From 1971 to 1983, Kathy was a principal in a boutique film distribution and production company representing Japanese producers, distributors, and exhibitors in the acquisition of American motion pictures and the production of Japanese television shows and commercials in the US. Her clients included Nippon Herald, Fuji Television, Pony Canyon, Nippon Television Network, Dentsu, Hakuhodo and TV Man Union. In 1983, Kathy joined Hemdale Film Corporation and handled worldwide sales of their 186 film library, which included Best Picture Oscar winners, Platoon and The Last Emperor.  Kathy launched Kathy Morgan International specializing in financing, international sales and distribution of feature films and television in 1992.  Films represented include The Adderall Diaries, starring James Franco, Amber Heard and Ed Harris with Executive Producer Robert Redford; Behind the Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, directed by Steven Soderbergh and produced by Jerry Weintraub; The Warrior’s Way produced by Barrie Osborne (Lord of the Rings), starring Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush and Asian mega-star Jong Dong-Gun; Swing Vote, starring Kevin Costner; Crocodile Dundee III starring Paul Hogan; The Butterfly Effect, starring Ashton Kutcher; and A Love Song for Bobby Long starring John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson. Kathy Morgan is the Executive Producer of The Danish Girl starring Eddie Redmayne and directed by Tom Hooper; and Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, which will be produced by The Weinstein Company.  Kathy served two terms as the Chairman of the Independent Film and Television Alliance and  is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Screen Actors Guild.
